We conduct research into where education systems fail young people, publish the findings openly, and submit policy initiatives to governments in order to improve the educational system and create meaningful, positive change. Our initial mission is dedicated solely to high schoolers about to take a life-changing decision — college.

Any secondary school with students in their final two years, in any country. We look for a guidance team willing to co-design the programme and give honest feedback. There is no cost during the pilot phase.

Yes. Students register individually through the student programme, complete the profile at their own pace and receive their results plus the decision framework. Participants under 18 need parental approval.

Yes — for pilot schools and for students during the pilot phase. Our publications are permanently open access.

Participation is consent-based and anonymised at collection. Schools receive aggregated cohort reports only — never individual results. Data is stored securely, used solely for the stated research purpose, and any participant may withdraw at any time.

A career test gives a label. Our programme combines validated psychological instruments, research evidence and guided reflection, so the student understands the reasoning behind every suggestion and can defend the decision themselves.

A full cycle runs across one academic semester: baseline, profiling, two to three workshops and the final cohort report. Total classroom time is typically six to eight hours.

GYDL was founded in June 2026 by a student-led team, supported by advisors in psychology and education research who provide the scientific foundation for the methodology.
